August 2019 Club Meeting
Sea Stories of the OBX
In 1942 the United States fought and suffered one of its greatest defeats of World War II, not in Europe or the Pacific but along the eastern seaboard. As men and war materials were being dispatched to foreign fronts, German U-boats arrived at America’s front door. In what has come to be known as the Battle of Torpedo Junction, the U-boats sent over 100 US ships to a watery grave.
Join us as Mike Marks tells some sea stories and shares his experiences while diving these wrecks in the Graveyard of the Atlantic.
Meet new dive buddies, reconnect with old ones, and talk all things related to diving! It’s sure to be a night full of food, drink and fun. Hope to see you there!
